Icon Showcase for the week of 10/4
Welcome to the Icon Showcase! A new feature to substitute for our usual Weekly Wrap-Up, these posts will show off some of the latest, greatest icons by our resident forumgoers and artists, hand-picked by the staff for excellence in aesthetics, usefulness and detail. Whether you’re a newcomer to customization looking for a solid recommendation, or just don’t have time to check up on all of the releases each week, this feature is just for you.

Antares Complete Pack
Jaziel
If there are two things we love at MacThemes, it’s when new members contribute to the forums and when new iconsets see the light of day; so what’s better than the two combined together? Newcomer Jaziel has finished his awesome iconset, Antares, featuring 100 gorgeous new releases in stunning 512×512 resolution (that means Leopard-ready, folks!). To top it all off, Jaziel has also included three different formats- ICNS, ICO, and PNG- so Windows and Mac users can play nice with the set. You can get the entire release in the forum thread.

AppleBag
Pinky von Pout
Pinky von Pout, MacThemes’ modding queen, has pumped out a myriad of fun, original icons throughout the whole week, but it’s easy to say the AppleBag is the winner for our new favorite Pinky release. A prime example of the detail artists can squeeze into their creations, this light-blue bag seems to be the perfect contender for the desktop… a Downloads folder replacement, perhaps? Check out the senior member’s Apple-flavored icon here.

Cake
Kobhen
Who doesn’t enjoy a bit of cake every once in a while? Kobhen serves us a delectable treat for our pixel-hungry palettes, whether it be to replace that stale-looking Documents icon (guilty as charged), or as a fun e-gift for someone’s next MacThemes birthday. You can get Kobhen’s tasty release in the forum thread.

MacThemes 2.0
CompC
Before the relaunch of 2.0, the “MacThemes Artist” grazed the front page with a promising message of return, behind it a glorious, glowing 2. Forumgoer CompC has created his own version of the graphic, based on Philipp Antoni’s original work, which should please those looking for a new folder icon, app replacement, or just to gaze at all day long; download it here.
