Mac OS X Cats 3 Released

Cats 3We really like Mac OS X Cats- artist Susumu Yoshida’s iconset magnum opus- so it seems fitting that we give the Japanese icon designer kudos for the third iteration of his popular set, released today. Like all of Yoshida’s releases, Cats 3 folders are treated with a high attention to detail and place special emphasis on choice- 5 variants and over 300 icons should speak well to this. Download them at McDo Design today and take a look for yourself.

I was under the impression Susumu did not want to have his work posted on MacThemes.

There are simply amazing, the movie folder-icon really is delicious!

  3. TomTom Says:

I remember someone telling me Susumu didn’t want his work posted here on MacThemes as well…

One thing to remember is that news posts are conceptually different from a forum thread. Whereas the “Releases & Updates” forum serves as a download feed, the front page is for any kind of news, whether it was announced on MacThemes or not. In fact, that’s how the front page operated before the forums existed, way back in the day.

I will be happy to remove this post if Susumu personally requests to do so; otherwise, it stays.

Freedom of the press guarantees the right to post news on whatever the hell you want. The author doesn’t have a say in it unless he somehow coaxes the blog authors into signing a contract saying they can’t post it.

Moreover, I would very much like to see a lot more posts on the front page. I’m not a forum junkie, I just don’t have time for it, but I would very much like to keep up with Mac theming news. Unfortunately there are no good sites for that, which have feeds.

So to the blog author(s): If you keep this thing updated with all pertinent news it would make me very happy and I think fill a huge void in the Mac OS X news line.

These are fantastic! I’m using them right now — I just wish there’d be some extra fun icons in the same vein as Aqua Leopard Folders.

And I agree, the movie folder with the popcorn is brilliant.

This icon set is best set released in 2008. It is just astonishing, usable, colorful, professional and high-quality. Bravo, Susumu!
