Weekly Wrap-Up for the week of 4/12
Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up! This is a segment that shows off the staff’s favorite new icons, walls, and docks for the week. For people who don’t have enough time to weed through the forums every day, or for those who might have missed that great new icon release you keep seeing in screenshots, this is for you.
Now here’s an idea: a wall of a wall. Take that idea, combine it with some Apple advertising magic, and you’ve got a nice iPod desktop for your, well, desktop. Better yet, creator Ben Adamson has attached the nifty PSD if you’d like to use your own painting (perhaps a nice Zune picture?). Download it at deviantART.
We don’t get many photography releases at MacThemes, let alone anything we post on the front page, but this is one of those rare gems. Maggi’s contribution is a nostalgic fisherman’s box, a black-and-white beauty available in glorious 2560×1600 resolution. You can have it yourself at deviantART.
If you’ve been using Photoshop for the last couple years, you probably remember Adobe’s feather branding pretty well, which swept versions 8 and 9 before being replaced with the more simple lettering used today. Regardless, the idea is somewhat iconic to many a-designer, so Vincent Garnier has done those feather fans a treat by giving it a brilliant 512×512 refresh: I’m happy to it, that’s for sure. Following suit, you can get the icons at deviantART.
With theming making slow strides on Leopard, there’s a certain desire for little cleanups to Leopard’s redone Aqua UI. Rick Patrick, theming expert and long-time MacThemes contributor, sweats the details with his redesigned scrollbars, silencing the “crest toothpaste” resources that have been around for years. Rick Patrick’s download is available at the forums.
3D Docks: a never-ending well for GUI creativity. Nameless, by MacThemes forumgoer Pumpkin, is an elegant must-have; a dark, striped look suitable for any desktop, icon, or reasonable Dock enthusiast. Available as separate resources (no CandyBar iContainer yet, unfortunately), Nameless takes your normally-glasstastic Dock and gives it a burst of class, something a little more svelte for the bottom of your screen. You can get Nameless at deviantART.

Are you kidding me.
Probably it was too ugly for the frontpage?

LOL, this is so unexpected. Thanks.

It’s not that MT photography releases are ugly– I love photography submitted to the site– it’s just that a single photography release doesn’t warrant a front page mention usually.

Nice idea, hop you well keep updating.

@Austin you missed the point. It is not like I need the attention on the frontpage to keep on posting my desktop ready photo’s
Btw single photo release? You probably missed all 5 of them
