I have only one major issue with Joy-Vincent’s Canon G9 icon. I don’t have a Canon G9 and in releasing this icon, he has forced me to look upon my Sony Cybershot T-100 with great disdain, for it does not have an icon to call its own. That grievance aside, I have nothing but praise for his release. It strikes that delicate balance between photorealism and icon. It keeps that sense that, at first glance, you might be looking at a photo — but on closer inspection realizing that it’s a very well-executed rendition. So while this might be of little use to someone who doesn’t own a Canon G9, I couldn’t very well hold that against it. Download away, and perhaps Vincent will grace us with a version without the Canon logo that we non-Canon toters can use more generically.
