MacThemes’ Theme For a Week Contest’s first act has drawn to a close, and now it’s time for the user’s involvement. 55 titillating entries are competing for a chance to be one of the three winners of a software cornucopia worth over $1000. With such a grandiose prize at stake, we want to make sure that the winners are deserving, and so half of the total score of a theme will be based on the popular vote, so come one, come all, and vote for your favorite and most deserving theme. Starting today, August 8th, voting opens to MacThemes frequenters and outsiders alike, and to give the indecisive among us as much time to ponder their choice as they need, voting runs until Wednesday, the 15th.
Take me to voting!
Note: To vote, scroll over the stars on the selected entry and then click the amount you want to give the entry.

Well the entry period has now come to a close. We’ve received 50+ outstanding entries, the majority coming from unknown artists. The success of this contest goes to show that the Mac GUI community is still alive and kickin’. Judging is currently taking place and will run through the 15th. Right now, the judges are hard at work reviewing, rating, and commenting on the entries, so sit tight! Public voting will start on wednesday, the 8th. Thank you all for making this contest such a success!

Like a phoenix, rising from the ashes of its deceased former self, so did MacThemes emerge, re-branded as MacThemes 2. The site’s been going along excellently in recent months, with tens of thousands more hits a month, and it’s all thanks to you, readers. We’ve given you a renewed commitment to deliver news, reviews, previews, and interviews highlighting everything going on in the Mac theming universe, with the promise of even greater things in store.
So without further ado, we’re ecstatic to announce the MacThemes Theme For a Week Contest. With over 13,000 elements to theme in OSX the grueling task of creating and producing a theme takes the right kind of artist. That’s why we decided to shake things up a bit. Instead of a long, drawn out development period, with little interaction from users and meager rewards at the end, the Theme For a Week Contest, as its name implies, lasts a week, with a (mock-up) development process as clear as glass and rewards fit for a king (of Macs).
