Description: A smooth professional theme inspired by Leopard & Aperture.
Graphical Intent: Pro takes the small radii corners of Leopard's windows and the reverse-gloss of its Apple menu icon, and it mixes it with the smooth metal and graphite colors of Aperture. Elements throughout the theme are simply grey plastic, while elements of importance (menu, selected items, progress) are highlighted in dark graphite.
General Comments: Graphite window widgets for those who appreciate more contrast. The mockup showcases my Borderless iChat mod 2.0.

Ooh… I like this one a lot; I have long wished to see a theme that accurately bring’s Apple “pro” interface to the rest of the OS. The only thing I don’t like is the black outline and rounded top corners of the titlebar selection-thing… take out the outline and square off those corners, and this one might just be my favorite.

Out of all the good looking themes, this would be the one that I would actually use on a day to day basis.

The only thing I dislike is the menubar selection, but the rest is beautiful. Love it

I love it! The glossy elements have a hard, flat feel that really sets the theme apart from other “pro aqua” themes.

The name says it all. This is Pro. I really want this!

Kromo meeets Metal and Aqua, pulled it off quite nicely Pyn, this is just pure awesome

Voting on this is easy! This needs to be made into reality, very slick!

Since the only unique element of this theme has probably been taken straight from California (the reversed gloss, it would be a big coincidence to have something new like this twice in the same contest) I’m gonna go ahead and call this, quite simply, a rip-off.
(quick question: how does this look similar to Kromo?)
Pat posted on August 9th, 2007 at 1:55 am:
@Phil: I’m not contesting that Pro and California both have the reversed gloss convention (and despite anything I may say, you probably won’t believe me that I started this theme before California appeared on the site), but I find it slightly biased that you would mention the similarities of Pro and California and fail to even mention anything about Neptune & Lily.
Philipp Antoni posted on August 9th, 2007 at 8:40 am:
@Pat: That’s because the similarities between Neptune and Lily and miniscule, they only use a similar button material (which has probably been used in other themes as well already).

It’s not a rip-off IMHO. Inspiration may be…I like Pro more than California. Pro definitely more eye-pleasant
kdraggy posted on August 9th, 2007 at 10:45 am:
Also, I find that color palette in California is slightly changed Amora style. Isn’t that a rip?
Austin posted on August 9th, 2007 at 8:16 pm:
The taskbar looks a touch like Kromo, which is good, it’s something very subtle so its no rip, nor am I inclining that thought.

pyn, dude. Great work Im not surprised at all that haters troll’d to your entry.

I think that something like this would work well for me because I try to work in a rather color and brightness neutral environment while working in After Effects, Avid Media Composer, etc., so that my eyes are not misled by nearby hues and values. The contrasts are not too high and feel like they would be easy on the eyes. I’m not a theme builder, but this feels good to me.

this one gets my vote!
Lee posted on August 11th, 2007 at 1:10 am:
@Philipp: Neptune and Lily using the same style of button is a lot more blatant of a rip-off than Pro and California both using reversed gloss… using your logic, Kontradict, Gradyan, Plexis, and Acerocide must all be rip-offs of each other because they all use a dark color scheme.
Geez.

This isn’t the kind of theme I would normally use, but I like it, it looks so professional and usable for everyday work

Love it because it would look much better on my MBP than aqua or graphite currently does. Good work and good luck!
